"Electrica"
is Stereoskopīs third album. It is the perfect combination
of the previous two ones and at the same time it
is a great leap forward. "Electrica" is not only
brilliantly produced but it also serves as a reference
for the international electronic music scene, given
the fact that it is Stereoskopīs first international
release through the Italian label Pulsar Light.
Stereoskopīs European tour will set off in Athens,
where they are co-headlining the Play House Gothic
festival. Afterwards, they will perform in Germany
and Italy. The main influences for this album have
been the techno pop of the 80s and the New Romantics
(Visage, Erasure, Ultravox, Alphaville, etc), along
with the latest tendencies in dance music: electro
house, techno minimal, electro clash, etc. In this
album, the guitars are once again the mainstay of
the groupīs compositions and their powerful sound
on stage. Their live line up now includes Pat Subaru
who plays the electronic drums and it constitutes
a nice contrast to Alex Brujasī FX guitars and Susana
Egeaīs ethereal vocals. Brujas and Egea have managed
to add a personal touch and "catchy" choruses to
the mystic arrangements of tracks such as "Forget
Me Not" or "Stone Watchtower", and the electronic
beats of "Disease" or "Electrica". Tracks such as
"In A While" or "Europe" perfectly represent the
essence of Stereoskop: a vigorous techno-rock whose
roots can be found in big beat, Madonnaīs "Ray Of
Light" and the gothic scene of the 80s. "In A While"
is the first single and it will also be included
in the soundtrack of Coto Matamorosī debut behind
the cameras: "Plauto: recuerdos distorcionados de
un tonto eventual" along with tracks from groups
such as Smashing Pumpkins, Sex Pistols, The Waterboys
etc. The videoclip for the single was directed by
the famous artist/comedian Carlos Faemino, who is
also responsible for the album artwork and the band
photos.
